Meet the Founders Behind the Framework
All three team members are co-authors of Life in 5D: A New Vision of Discipleship, which introduces the five Dimensions and 35 Outcomes that form the foundation of the Discipleship Dynamics Assessment. Together, they bring over a century of combined experience in ministry, education, data science, and leadership.
Johan Mostert, Ph.D.

Johan is the Co-Founder and data scientist behind Discipleship Dynamics. His expertise and passion lie in the dimensions of Personal Wholeness and Healthy Relationships, calling churches and organizations to embrace holistic care—especially for the marginalized.
With over 50 years of experience as a pastor, psychologist, professor, and executive leader, Johan brings deep insight into how individuals and entire communities flourish when every person is seen, supported, and equipped. He currently serves as Director of Research and Development for COMPACT Family Services, a faith-based agency whose mission it is to ‘Raise leaders, to Resource the Church, to Redeem the family’.
Charlie Self, Ph.D.

Charlie helps ministries integrate discipleship into every dimension of life. As the integration leader for Discipleship Dynamics, he emphasizes Spiritual Formation as the foundation of whole-life transformation and helps leaders chart pathways toward maturity.
A pastor, professor, author, and public voice for over 40 years, Charlie equips churches and organizations with tools for strategic growth, master planning, and cultural engagement. He currently serves as a Visiting Professor at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and is Chief Intellectual Officer of the Pathmakers Foundation.

Jamé leads the conversation around Vocational Clarity and Work & Economics within Discipleship Dynamics. His driving passion is to help believers connect faith to every area of life—especially how they live and work Monday through Saturday.
As a practicing Lead Pastor, Victory Church and the CEO, Pathmakers Foundation, Jamé brings a strategic lens to discipleship. He has led spiritual and economic revitalization in local churches, equipping them to develop economic engines for sustainable ministry. His work helps leaders transform their preaching, leadership development, and church strategy based on real data from their people.
